Have You Read The Bible Lately
The bible is that book you have heard of, but maybe never read. It is possible to go a whole lifetime without any serious study of the bible. Many people consider themselves educated and literate but have very little knowledge of the Holy Bible. The excuses for not reading the bible are many. Some say, "I don't understand it." The bible is easy to understand when you are willing to believe what it says. It gets complicated when you have a truck load of man made religious ideas in your head that conflict with what the bible says. God simply spoke to men what he wanted us to know and they wrote it down for us to read.
If you honestly believe there is a God and creator, you would ask, "What must I do to please him, and how do I get to know God?" The bible can answer these questions.
But remember, God has the right as creator to tell you what to do, how to live, and even what to wear. If you cannot accept this point, there is no reason to read the bible. The bible was written so God could tell us about himself and tell us what to do to please him. Why should it seem so unreasonable to people that God who is your creator has the right to tell you what to do. Anyone not willing to obey God will be in big trouble on the day of judgment.
Approach the bible with reverence and be willing to obey what it says, The bible is true whether you believe it or not and you will be judged according to what is written. God expects and demands of everyone repentance and obedience and fear of God and love of God. The bible promises blessing, life, and healing to those who obey, but a curse and hell fire to those who refuse and are disobedient. This is the Gospel. Choose to obey and you will be blessed.
The bible is a book of truth, but there are hundreds of religious liars seeking to destroy your soul and they twist and torture the scriptures to fit their little man made religions. God has protected the bible from them, but there are still corrupt translations of the bible today. The fact that we know there are corrupt bibles is part of God's protection of the valid scriptures. You should read the Kings James translation for bible study and look at other translations only for a comparison of individual verses. It is your duty to stick to the plain truth found in the Holy Bible and not give heed to religious liars.
There is also a spiritual element for understanding the bible. God's word in the Holy Bible has only one true meaning which was and is in the mind of the creator. The word of God came from God and the meaning or interpretation of the scriptures comes from God, a revelation of the mind of God. The bible says,
"Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God" (1 Corinthians 2:9-11).

I encourage you to read the bible in sincerity and ask God to help you understand. God will see from heaven when someone with a pure heart begins to read the bible.
